


Assessment Literacy Institute is an independent scholarly initiative dedicated to advancing research, dialogue, and understanding of assessment literacy within educator preparation.
The Institute serves as a center for ongoing scholarship examining how assessment literacy is developed, understood, and represented across educator preparation programs.
Its mission is to contribute evidence-informed scholarship that supports thoughtful dialogue, continuous improvement, and a deeper understanding of assessment literacy across educator preparation.
Assessment Literacy Institute was founded by Dr. Carrie Button to advance scholarly inquiry into assessment literacy within educator preparation.
Building upon doctoral research completed at Alverno College, the Institute explores questions related to how future educators develop assessment literacy, how they are prepared for the assessment demands of professional practice, and how assessment literacy is represented throughout educator preparation programs.
The Institute seeks to contribute to the growing body of scholarship through research, publications, and professional dialogue while encouraging thoughtful examination of assessment literacy across educator preparation and higher education.
